Welcome, Gunny! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that the spirit of the season will be with you throughout the New Year. I'm Gene smith and have been a member for several months. I put a ride together back in October that went over fairly well considering there were two members at that time. Other Classy Convertible owners were invited to join the ride. I hope we can put more structure into the Jacksonville Club. Perhaps one day we will have "rides" and you will see only Solstices and Sky's. I to have an organizational meeting in February 2, at 2:00PM at Applebee's Restaurant on Old St. Augustine Road in Jacksonville. Organizing a club and a ride to the "swamp" in Georgia is on the agenda. I hope you can make it. Karen (my wife) and I just love our '07 Solstice GXP. Take care and keep in touch. I will be placing the meeting on the Web site soon.
Regards,
Gene Smith

Welcome!!! It's great to have another member.
To introduce ourselves, we are Winston and Shirley Sapp. Our home is Macclenny, Florida, just west of Jacksonville. We have a Sky. We are both retired.
In October we had the pleasure of meeting Gene Smith and his wife, Karen. We enjoyed a ride to Palatka and a great dinner. Although there were only two members at that time, we were joined by some wonderful convertible owners who live in Gene's area.
Hopefully you and your wife can join us on February 2. Before that time, Winston and I plan to drive to the "swamp" (the Okefenokee) to determine the feasibility of a ride to that area. As you probably know, there was a fire there this summer, so the area may not be "up to visitor's just yet."

Gunny,
Again, welcome to the Jacksonville GM Roadster Club. Briefly, I am an owner of a gray Solstice GXP, married 40 years tomorrow to a lovely lady whose name is Karen (actually the Sol is hers), retired US Army after more than 23 years of service, retired the second time from the Flagler County(FLorida) Sheriff's Office after 20 years, very active in The American Legion and the Jacksonville GM Roadster Club, I live in Palm Coast (about 60 miles south of Jacksonville). Did I say golf? I love a game! If you will contact me at jacksonville@gmroadster.com, I will be more than happy to give you my personal E-mail address and other contact information. Take care and I hope to see you at the planning meeting in February. Regards, Gene Smith

Scott:
Welcome to the GM Roadster Club. We welcome you to the Jacksonville Chapter. By joining the national organization, a portion of your dues will be sent to the Jacksonville chapter.
We will meet March 1 in St. Augustine. Please RSVP to Gene Smith. We are also spending a day in the swamp on April 12. This promises to be an experience for those who have never visited the Okefenokee. You will need to RSVP to me.
We look forward to meeting you.

Good morning, sir. I thank you and Kathryn for joining us at the Gypsy Cab Company Restaurant. It was a great Meet, Greet and Eat Event. Anytime you draw 15 people, the Club is doing something right. Also, although not planned, we had a nice chat with you at the Barnes and Nobles. Thanks. Enjoyed the day very much. Hopefully, we can play a little golf one day. Take care and see you and Kathryn on the "Swamp Ride". Until then...Enjoy the journey!! Gene

Hello JRC (Jacksonville Roadster Club),
We are Leonce and Kim Vidal, and really enjoyed the get together in St Augustine last week. I hope ya'll will forgive us if it takes a while to remember each of your names, but suffice it to say we really did enjoy ourself at Gypsy Cab Co. and look forward to growing with the club.
As I mentioned to a few Saturday, we were thinking about going to Kentucky, but after checking into it more I discovered it is a meet in North Caroliana. If we can get ten club members signed up there are bonuses we can get for attending. The meet to ride the Dragons Tail is June 25-29 and there is still rooms available. . .(84-120 per night). Anyone else interested??

Hi Lee and Kim:
You will enjoy the ride on the "Dragon". We did this many years ago before it became so popular. Our son also conquered the Dragon on his Harley. Be careful. Do a Yahoo search on tail of the dragon photos.
Winston and I won't be available at that time. It's the weekend of our granddaughter's birthday. Maybe other club members will be interested. You can broach this subject at the swamp ride on April 12.

Kim and Lee
The Tail of the Dragon sounds like fun and a bit of a challenge. I know I would enjoy it. Unfortunately, as volunteer Director of Florida American Legion Boys State, I will be in Tallahassee with 520 high school juniors as they develop and run the 51st State -- Boys State. Good program for these young men to work for college credits and college scholarships. Anyway, enjoy and I hope to make the run one day in the not too distant future. I hope you will give some thought to joining us in April for a trip to the Swamp and that you will consider becoming a member of the Jacksonville GM Roadster Club.
Gene Smith
Interim President
PS Karen sends her regards. She enjoyed conversing with you at the Gypsy Cab Company.
